When it comes to representation, especially within media, we constantly hear about how much it matters. But what does that really mean? From empowering all of your employees to be their authentic selves within any space, to integrating intersectionality into how you interpret representation -- considering ways to amplify all kinds of Black voices, and more, there are many ways that you can do your part in ensuring that your team members feel seen and heard in and out of the office all year long. Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel." As a POC, I think about this quote often because of how people make me feel due to the color of my skin. And this feeling travels with you everywhere – the grocery store, the airport, a restaurant and even in your own neighborhood. Why do people of color have to be treated differently? Aren't we all the same? Aren't we just as human as everyone else?

Today is supposed to be Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day in North America. The concept is to connect what children learn at school with the working world in an effort to enable them to discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life.

Sunday, March 8 is International Women’s Day 2020.  A day across Zeno offices globally that we celebrate and reflect on how we can all do our part to help forge a gender equal world through our commitments and actions to make a positive difference for women. While we are making strides towards equality in society, there are opportunities for us to continue to drive gender parity and it’s a shared commitment from both men and women that will get us there.

Since joining Zeno shortly after the agency was launched in 1998, I have experienced more than 1,000 “Fridays”—the last day of the work week, most often spent huddling with colleagues, touching base with clients and getting organized for what lies ahead come Monday.
