On the heels of its recent acquisition of Three Monkeys Communications in the UK and continued growth across the Americas and Asia, Zeno Group has appointed Nancy Ruscheinski as its first global Chief Operating Officer, effective today.
A 28-year veteran of Edelman, Zeno’s sister agency under DJE Holdings, Ruscheinski joins Zeno in a role designed to be client-centric, with a focus on growth and globalization across practices, key functions, innovation and talent, ensuring that as Zeno’s growth trajectory continues, so too does the firm’s ability and agility to deliver world-class integrated work with the best and brightest talent. More specifically, Nancy will oversee the growth, development and integration of Zeno’s global practices (Consumer, Health, Technology and Corporate) as well as several key functions including Strategy & Planning, Creative, Intellectual Property, Talent and the firm’s continuing education initiative known as Fearless University.
Nancy will be based in Zeno’s Chicago office and report to CEO Barby K. Siegel.
“With six years of stunning organic growth and the completion of our first acquisition, we needed another experienced leader (and doer) to join our Leadership team. Certainly, not just anyone could step into a role like this. I needed to find someone who could bring an outside perspective and challenge us in new ways, while understanding the essence of our brand and the journey we are on. Nancy’s arrival sends yet another powerful signal to the marketplace that we are in the midst of an exciting and unprecedented time at Zeno – a time of transformation, disruption and evolution as we bring on new talent, deepen areas of specialization and innovate. Nancy brings to Zeno unparalleled experience and a very Zeno mind-set,“ said Siegel.
At Edelman, Ruscheinski charted a dynamic career, holding a dozen high-profile positions including President of Edelman Chicago, US Chief Operating Officer, Global Chief Innovation Officer, Head of Media and Creative Services, founder of Edelman’s digital business, and, most recently, Vice Chairman, Client Engagement. Her client experience is extensive and includes work for such brands and organizations as Kraft Foods, Hilton, Darden, Quaker, Humana, United Airlines, Burger King, Wrigley, Kellogg’s, Kimberly-Clark and SC Johnson.
“I’ve watched Zeno grow into an award-winning, global, integrated communications agency that is challenging the status quo,” said Ruscheinski. “I find the lure of Zeno’s culture, clients, business model and ambition to be irresistible. It’s exhilarating to join at this time in Zeno’s evolution, in a role that’s new to the firm. Who wouldn’t want to be part of a team whose mission is ‘Fearless Pursuit of the Unexpected?’”
Ruscheinski sits on the boards of the Adler Planetarium, the Off the Street Club and the Chicago Innovation Awards. A member of the Chicago Network and the Executives Club, Nancy is the proud mother of nineteen-year-old twins Keegan and Kylie and lives in Chicago with husband Eddie and Labrador retrievers Stella and Luna.
“I could not be more grateful for the contributions that Nancy has made to Edelman over the years. Nancy follows in a line of incredible leaders who have been part of the DJE family in Chicago. Nancy will be a driving force as Zeno continues on its path as the mid-size global challenger agency,” said Richard Edelman, Chairman DJE Holdings Inc.
