Lynn Hanessian Named
Chief Executive Officer of Zeno Group
NEW YORK, N.Y., (October 9, 2007) - Zeno Group, a DJE communications company, today named Lynn Hanessian as the new chief executive officer. Hanessian comes to Zeno from Edelman where she was general manager of Edelman Chicago's Health business and director of US Health. She replaces Jerry Epstein, who has moved to a consultant role with the firm, and she is reporting to Richard Edelman.
"As an accomplished agency leader and global client manager with a proven track record, Lynn is perfectly suited to lead Zeno," said Richard Edelman, president and chief executive officer, Edelman. "The firm is poised for growth, especially in its health practice, a discipline with which Lynn is deeply familiar and has successfully grown at Edelman."
Zeno has five US offices - New York, Washington, DC, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles - and four main practices: Consumer Marketing, Health, Corporate & Public Affairs and Technology.
Hanessian joined Edelman Chicago in 1997 and began her tenure as the head of Edelman's Chicago Health business in 2000. Under her leadership, the business more than tripled its revenue and has performed consistently in the key areas of growth, profitability, client and employee retention, and quality. Following Hanessian's transition to Zeno, Edelman's Chicago Health team will be directed by Gina Hayes, promoted from EVP, deputy general manager to general manager, Health, together with Jennifer Petterson, general manager, director, US Consumer Health.
"Zeno's reputation is based on zealous relationship building and innovative, informed dialogue with our clients, their stakeholders and the media," said Hanessian. "As we move forward we'll continue this approach to ensure that Zeno not only grows in strength and reputation, but carries on Dan Edelman's tradition of breakthrough success on behalf of our clients."
With extensive experience providing marketing support, issues management, advocacy relations and corporate positioning programs, Hanessian brings depth of knowledge with a broad range of pharmaceutical, diagnostic, consumer products, food and technology companies; health professional associations; public health groups; and philanthropic organizations.
Hanessian will work closely with the Zeno senior team: Phil Armstrong, COO and leader of Corporate & Public Affairs; Ana Burke, CFO; Lisa Robinson, creative director, leader of Consumer and managing director based in Los Angeles; Heather Gartman, managing director based in DC and leader of Health; Grant Deady, managing director, and Alicia Zatkowski, both based in Chicago; Stephanie Goddard and Jay Joyer based in Los Angeles; Jerry Tolk and Cheryl Pellegrino based in New York; and Molly Mulloy based in San Francisco.
Hanessian is a cancer advocate serving on the board of directors for Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization. A graduate of the University of Chicago, Hanessian resides in Chicago and will lead Zeno from the firm's Chicago office.
