It’s not every day you walk into work and get to talk exclusively about beer, unless of course it’s National Beer Day and your client is the biggest beer producer in the nation. To use the Internet’s favorite humble brag: I’m #blessed.
For the past year, I’ve had the privilege of working with Anheuser-Busch on the Let’s Grab A Beer campaign. This one-of-a-kind campaign began with one goal at heart: sharing the love for all things beer with the nation.
My Zeno teammates, and anyone else I’ve unwittingly subjected to long-winded beer trivia, will be the first to tell you that this account was like a match made in heaven for me. Why? Because my love of history led me to beer, which then inspired me to practice my palate, brew with my buddies and even tour breweries across the nation.
As you can imagine, this beer nerd was pretty “stoked” to be working with one of the oldest breweries in the nation, and the feeling was mutual with all of my trusted Zeno comrades. You see the amazing thing is, pretty much anyone can appreciate two of beer’s finest qualities: it’s delicious and it brings people together.
Thus, on April 7, 2015, a day more commonly known as National Beer Day, we embarked on our quest to get the nation talking about one of its favorite beverages. Why this date of all dates? Because this was the day Congress decided to repeal its prohibition on beer in 1933.
Here we are again, on April 7, 2016, ready to ring in another National Beer Day for the history books. In the 365 days between last year and now, I can’t begin to count all the fun adventures this crew has had, from meeting the Clydesdales, to smelling the sweet aroma of roasted malt, to pausing a meeting just to get out a good laugh, beer has inevitably brought us all together.
With that said, I’d like to propose a toast: here’s to the best client and team a man could ask for…now let’s grab a beer!
